  • row peasant’s houses from Hrubá Vrbka

A part of the row peasant’s houses in the village square in Hrubá Vrbka. The original gableorientation with common roof covering the house, the entrance and the gate changes into the gutterorientation. Gradually, the uninterrupted string development is formed. The region of Horňácko, as to its architecture belonging to the lowland Moravian-Pannonian house type, encourages the study of folk architecture with plenty of its interesting elements. Until the mid-20th century, the gable-oriented and gutter-oriented houses had survived along with a lot of transient types. The row peasant’s houses in Hrubá Vrbka rank among the advanced types of the gutter-oriented houses. The roof over the house frontage covers also the entrance, návratí, closed with large double-wing gate. The string development offers a picture of regularly alternating masonry and large gates.
