Building E20

  • winepress house and wine cellar, lot No. 270, of Josef Stanec from the house No. 162 in Prušánky

The winepress house and the cellar were documented in 1808 for the first time but their age must be higher. Jewish trader Löbl Deutch bought the building from the then owner Jiří Sasínek for 35 guldens. He must have improved and extended the building because when he sold it in 1817, the price increased to 324 guldens. The building kept on changing its owners until the end of the 19th century, as it was bought by Jakub Stance whose family owned it for next three generations.

The traditional layout of the building consists of the thatched recessed winepress house, the underground cellar and the link called šíja (neck). The suffi cient size of the winepress house allowed to inbuild a small room for get-togethers with friends or other vintners. The front side is decorated with textured fi nish framed with smooth coat. The impression is amplified with light green on the surfaces, white on the frames and folk ornaments above the entrance door.
