Building E16

  • winepress house and wine cellar, lot No. 373, of Marie Lukášová from Blatnice

With its layout, the winepress house belongs to the younger type of vintners´ buildings in the territory. It is located beneath the Stará hora tract of vineyards, near the road of pilgrimage to the St. Antonius chapel on the Blatnice hill. Its large winepress house indicates the building to be built in this way intentionally because of the possibility to tap wine for the passing pilgrims. For the first time, the building is recorded on the cadastral map from the year 1827. Frantz Kramer from the house No. 45 in Blatnice was its owner at that time. As compared with the winepress houses, which have the same ground plan but the narrower dimensions, this winepress house could have a small room for a get-together in the right front corner. The fireplace with a chimney must have been annexed because of this room.
