Jan Horák built the fulling mill building in 1885 next to his flour mill. He based it on a similar structure from nearby Stará Turá. The fullers there constructed the water-powered drive wheel and its internal technological equipment, known as the "werk." Fulling, like all domestic crafts, was a secondary activity that improved the family's social standing. Fulling was mainly done in the spring months from March to May, primarily on days unsuitable for fieldwork. Horák's fulling mill ceased operations in 1942 by direct order of the German authorities.
